1| How can I become a Wisdom Staffing Employee?

Complete the basic registration (click here to register now), check your email inbox and follow the instructions. You can also contact a Staffing Consultant at 631-866-4008 for personal assistance.

2| Do I pay any fees?
No. Applicants are never charged a fee at Wisdom Staffing. Registering is without obligation and cost.
3| How do you define 'later life'?
Baby-boomers, pre-retirees and retirees all fit the definition. Wisdom Staffing promotes a focus on flexibility, skills, experience and work ethics, not age - if you’re good enough you’re young enough.
4| When I am on an assignment for one of Wisdom Staffing's customers, who is my employer?
Regardless of which of Wisdom Staffing's customers you work for, Wisdom Staffing is always your employer. Your Wisdom Staffing agent is your contact for all work assignments or employment issues.
5| Does Wisdom Staffing offer only temporary jobs?
Yes. Providing our job seekers and employers with the flexibility they desire is a core facet of Wisdom Staffing’s proposition. Our success depends on finding work that you want to do, on a schedule you like and in a location or company you desire.
6| What kinds of jobs are available?
Companies use temporary staff for all manner of positions – from the lightest of duties to consultancy and management; across a wide variety of disciplines in many industries; for part-time, periods of full-time, seasonal, projects, consulting and mentoring.
7| How are assignments made?

When we receive a job order request from a client company, we check our list of applicants to match preferences and skills with requirements. If your skills and work and schedule preferences match the client company’s need, we will call you. If you accept the assignment, we will provide you with all the necessary information about the job. When the assignment has ended, you contact your Wisdom Staffing agent to be placed back on the available list.

8| Will my skills be tested?

At Wisdom Staffing, we want to find you ‘ideal’ assignments. This means carefully screening and matching your preferences, skills and experiences with the right job. To ensure that you are well-suited for the demands of a specific job, we may assess your skills and characteristics.

9| Must I accept every assignment?

No. Flexibility is one of the priorities at Wisdom Staffing – you are under no obligation to take on a position. We want you to work the way you want to. However, when you accept an assignment, Wisdom Staffing depends on you to complete it.

10| How long are the assignments?

Wisdom Staffing assignments vary from hours to weeks or even months. When we make an assignment, we will provide you with the approximate length of time it will last. If you decide to accept an assignment, please ensure you are available for the full length of the assignment.

11| How often can I work?

This depends on your availability and willingness to work, the quality of your work and the
marketability of your skills. We make every attempt to ensure our job seekers are given the
opportunity to realize their ideal work-leisure lifestyle.

12| Will my retirement job affect my social security?

Nowadays, Uncle Sam wants you to keep working – legislation passed in 2000 recognizes the value of older workers and actually provides incentives for baby boomers and seniors to remain in the workforce or take retirement jobs. Follow this link to find out more click here

1| How do we start working with Wisdom Staffing?

can help optimize the flexibility and productivity of your workforce today, so that you can outcompete
tomorrow.

2| When we need workers, what do we do?
Our goal is to make ordering staff as simple, painless and reliable as possible. Simply call 631-866-4008 or your assigned Staffing Consultant and request any number of temporary employees for any number of hours. Get the workers you need, when you need them.
3| What information will I need to give the Staffing Consultant?

A specific description of the job responsibilities, required skills, work schedule and length of assignment. The more information you can provide, the better our chances of finding the ideal candidate(s). Also inform the Staffing Consultant of any requirements that are unique to your organization e.g. dress code, lunch, parking arrangements, HR liaison etc.

4| Do you specialize in a specific discipline or industry?
No. Wisdom Staffing offers a diversified temporary staffing solution in a wide variety of disciplines across many industries; for short or longer term assignment, part time or full time. And whether it’s routine, seasonal, unexpected or project-driven, our database and job seeker network is designed to provide suitable candidates in a timely fashion.Use of Temps to Reduce Overall Staffing Costs
5| Does use of a temporary employment agency make sense?

More and more organizations are using temping agencies for good reason – they enhance staffing flexibility and provide access to qualified workers upon demand. In fact, the contingent staffing industry will create more jobs over the next decade than any other sector, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Practically speaking, we help our clients to better focus on their core business by alleviating time-consuming paperwork, recruiting and interviewing and taking care of employee payroll and benefits. All our clients are responsible for is a flat hourly fee, billed weekly in a single detailed, easy-to-read invoice.

Financially speaking, our clients are able to better match staffing levels with workload, enhancing productivity and profitability. Use of temps also eliminates some employee turnover costs - according to a conservative estimate by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average cost to replace an employee is $13,996.

6| How much do Wisdom Staffing temps cost?

It depends on the job or assignment. An hourly rate is agreed upon at the time the work order
is placed – usually a flat percentage above the typical hourly rate of their permanent counterparts.
As the temp’s employer, we manage the payroll, all government reporting and pay all insurance
and taxes. You don't pay for lunch breaks, sick time, vacation pay, holidays, or costly overtime.
You will receive one simple, detailed easy-to-read invoice each week.

7| How do you define ‘later life’?

9| Will there be a labor/skill shortage in the US?

The average US organization will lose 1 in 3 of its current employees due to retiring baby boomers over the next 10 years. At the same time, participation rates from 16-24 year olds are the lowest in history and 40% of current population growth is fueled through immigrants who are in general, less qualified and skilled than their American counterparts.

13| Do you only supply temporary workers?

Yes. Wisdom Staffing specializes in the temporary placement of later life job seekers. Our employer clients value the flexibility, experience, dependability and availability we are able to offer and our job seekers value the flexibility of schedule and diversity of opportunities available.

14| What kind of training does Wisdom Staffing provide?

Many of our job seekers are highly experienced and already sufficiently trained to fulfill the requirements of the assignment. Of course, we work with our clients to develop customized training and testing programs for candidates when necessary, assuming the scale of the relationship warrants it.

15| What kind of testing does Wisdom Staffing perform?

This depends on the discipline and nature of the specific assignment at hand. All job seekers are profiled in our web-based automated registration system when they sign-up. Personality, skill and proficiency testing may be undertaken during the screening and matching process and candidate results will be available to employers.

16| Do you perform background and reference checks and / or fingerprinting?

We take pre-employment background and reference checks very seriously – our reputation depends on the quality of Job seekers we place. Fingerprinting and other requests should be made to your assigned Staffing Consultant and we will accommodate where possible.

17| Will Wisdom Staffing provide an on site manager or supervisor?

This depends on how many temporary employees you will need at your workplace and for how long. We will be willing to provide an on-site manager if the volume of business derived from your company warrants it.

18| Can we hire Wisdom Staffing temps permanently?

Generally, our later life temps are interested in the flexibility our service provides and are unwilling to commit to permanent employment. However, exceptions arise and we will assess a fee consistent with industry norms in such cases. Contact your Staffing Consultant if such a situation arises.
